Steven Michael Young Steven Michael Young, 62, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at his home. He was born Feb. 7, 1951, in Holton, the son of Francis and Jane Young. He grew up in Holton and graduated from Holton High School in 1970. Steve attended Emporia State University where he received his B.S.E. and M.S.E. Steve taught children with special needs in the Auburn-Washburn School District for 30 years. He was a member of the National Education Association and the Holton Christian Church. Steve married Marilyn Boston- MacGibbon on July 2, 1996 in Miami, OK. She survives. Other survivors include his father, Francis and wife Doris Young, Holton; brothers, Douglas Young and wife Kimberly, Topeka, Gregory Young and wife Terri, Holton; daughters, Kelly Baldwin and fianc Jeremy Schell, Topeka, Dawn Koths and husband Brian, Ft. Pierce, Florida; nephews and nieces, Breann Hinman and husband Andrew, Holton, Christopher Young and wife Alexandra, Topeka, Donovan Young and wife Kelli, Holton, and Brittany Young, Topeka; granddaughter, Loren Baldwin; great nieces and nephew, Brooklyn Hinman, Lorelia and Hendricks Young; and step-sister, Teresa Rowell, Andover. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jane Young. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
