Howard R. Maxwell Clarinda, Iowa June 6, 1942-Aug. 23, 2019 Howard Maxwell, age 77, of Clarinda, Iowa entered into peace Friday, August 23, 2019 at Clarinda Regional Health Center, Clarinda, Iowa. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Ritchie Funeral Home, Clarinda, Iowa. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Ritchie Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with the family greeting friends. Interment will be held at the Clarinda Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be given in Howard's name. Maxwell, son of Albert J. and Ella Florence (Ryan) Maxwell, was born on June 6, 1942 in Bloomington, IL. He spent his childhood in Clarinda, IA and attended Clarinda schools. On May 11, 1962, Howard and Peggy united in marriage and welcomed two children, Howie and Amy. Howard worked for Warren Construction for many years. After Warren Construction, he worked for Lisle's Corporation, where he retired. Following retirement, Howard enjoyed pulling trailers for Reed Trailers of Omaha, Nebraska. Howard was a devoted brother, father, and grandfather. In his leisure time, he enjoyed pouring and finishing concrete. He loved playing pranks, telling jokes, and spending time with his dogs, family, and friends. He also loved spending time outside and at the Adams County Speedway. He always enjoyed deer hunting in Bedford with the old crew. Howard got his wings on Friday, August 23, 2019 at the Clarinda Regional Health Center. He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy, his parents Albert and Florence, his brothers Joe, Randy, Tom, Ed, and Eddie J., and his close friend Lonnie Russell. Surviving Howard are his two children: Howie and wife Shellee Maxwell and Amy and husband David Fine; three grandchildren: Tyler and wife Olivia Maxwell, Brett (Porky) Maxwell and Sydney, and Tara Maxwell; two sisters, one brother, one brother-in-law, three sisters-in-law, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and the family of Lonnie Russell.
