Andrew John Anderson, PhD, 74, died September 4, 2012 at his home. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Iowa. Dr. Anderson was born on March 8, 1938 in Lake City, Iowa; the son of the late Andrew and Ferne Anderson. He graduated from Iowa State University, earning his Bachelor, Master's and Doctorate in Electrical Engineering. After graduation he moved to Texas, accepting a position in engineering with Texas Instruments. After 4 years, he moved to Santa Clara County, California where he helped found Avantek, Inc., where he was responsible for research and development. Through his research, Dr. Anderson developed the Microscopic Integrated Circuit and various wafer chips. After the death of his wife, Caroline Maier Anderson, Dr. Anderson moved to Clinton, Mississippi to be close to family. Dr. Anderson enjoyed building small gauge trains, miniature steam engines and flying radio controlled airplanes. During his life, Dr. Anderson also enjoyed racing cars, extreme snow skiing and skydiving. He is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline Carrillo and husband Alex of Raymond; son, Scott Anderson and wife Tracey of Colorado; grandchildren, Wayne Andrew Carrillo and wife Elizabeth of Washington, D.C.; Justin, Ashley and Sadie Carrillo all of Raymond; Allyson Anderson of Waco, TX; Kristen and Alexa Anderson both of Colorado; great grandchildren, Hunter and Kallie of Washington, D.C.

Offering my deepest condolences during this difficult time, I'm so very sorry for your loss, death is something we are never prepared for, but please find comfort in knowing God has promised He will do away with sickness, pain and death for His word is truth.
