April Townsend Obituary
Brandon
April Marie Townsend, 20, died Sunday, May 1, 2011 of injuries sustained in an ATV accident. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at Robinhood Baptist Church with burial following in Glenwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and will resume at 12 Noon Friday. Both visitations will be held at Robinhood Baptist Church. Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland is assisting with arrangements.
April was born on September 7, 1990 in Sheffield, Alabama. A longtime resident of Brandon, she attended McLaurin High School. April previously worked at Brandon Court Nursing Home before following her love for children and becoming a nanny. She was a member of Robinhood Baptist Church. April enjoyed dancing, singing, getting dressed up, riding four wheelers and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her mother and step-father, Joni and Brent Himes of Richland; her father, Hulan Michael Townsend of Brandon; brother, Billy Scott and his fiance, Stephanie Griffin both of Kosciusko; sister, Malisha Scott and her fiance, Nigel Cox both of Brandon; sister, Nikki Townsend and her fiance Justin Dickens both of Brandon; paternal grandmother, Marie Townsend and maternal grandfather, Lewis Ledford both of Alabama. April is also survived by her nieces, Khloe Dickens and Ryleigh Scott and many other loving family and friends, including April's dear friend, Tracy Lee.
Memorials may be made at any Bancorp South branch to the April Townsend Memorial Fund.
