Bertha Burse Obituary
Mrs. Burse was a native Jacksonian and a 1948 graduate of Lanier High School. Her most recent employment was with St. Peter Day Care where she worked with infants until her retirement in 2003. She was a soft-spoken, mild-mannered, peacemaker; a precious jewel to all who knew her.
Bertha Mae Coleman Burse leaves to appreciate and treasure her memories: three loving and committed children, Ronald Earl Burse (Vivian), Pastor Jimmie Dale Burse, Sr. (Celia) and Brenda Faye Dortch (Joe), all of Jackson, MS; twelve grandchildren,Sherida, Shantwanza(Artie), Shenetra, Jimmie, Jr. (Kimberly), Jarius (Marie), Creston, Ronald Terrell, Tamika, Justin, Chante', LaKeysha and Derrick; twenty-one great grandchildren; three brothers, Clarence Coleman (Catherine) of Detroit, MI, Rev. James A. Washington, Sr, of Jackson, MS and Thomas Washington, Jr. (Geraldine) of Los Angeles, CA; two sisters, Katie Wright, of Jackson, MS and Patricia Patterson, Lanham, MD; and a host of other relatives and friends.
