I was so sorry to hear of Billie's passage. I have great memories of she and I when we were both working for the Board of Supervisors. I made a donation to the Batson Children's Hospital in her memory but the Hospital told me they could not acknowledge it to the family because they did not have an address.

I was so very sad to hear about the passing of Mrs.
De Laughter.
I have not seen her for so very many years but there are some people that you never forget. She always was so FULL of life and fun to be around. As a child I tried for so long to hit a softballl but just could not do it. Mrs. De Laughter took the time to teach me and show me what I was doing wrong. She was right there at my side when I hit my first ball. I was so excited. I know it is such a simple thing but to me it wasn't and I have never forgotten that gesture of kindness. I know she is going to be missed!

To the Delaughter Family,

I was blessed to have worked with Mrs. Billie for several years while she worked for the Military Military Department. She was an absolutely delightful and charming lady. We have truly missed working with her over the past year.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. The physical loss of our love ones is never easy; but rest assured that as life goes on, you'll find that they are still with you. Whether it is hearing their voice when you need to hear it the most; or seeing their expressions in the little ones that are coming along, you'll find that they haven't really left us at all.
Our prayers are also that you will find comfort during this most difficult time and continue to be blessed.

Mr. Barney, Bobby and Mike - I just learned of the recent passing of Ms Billie - a true lady and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. I will always charish the times we had together as co-workers and friends - we really had some "tales to tell".

Mr. Barney, I will always be forever greatful to you both allowing me to stay at your home several days following Hurricane Katrina.

Bobby and Mike, I only wish I could be half the mother she was.

May God Bless and keep you all during this most difficult time.

Ms. Billie's sense of humor was always sharp and entertaining. Our church has her spirit all over the place, just as she always was. Her grandson, Burt was there in my Sunday School Children's department back when we had 6 grades with two departments of 28 people for each grade and Bobby was a great friend. She and Barney raised some great kids. Mike was also at Oak Forest and Barney served as a Deacon for us, so there are memories of the family all around. We have missed them since they moved to Wild Wood and I'm sure she will be missed there as well. Ms. Billie, you go rest high on that mountain and you can even sing around that throne now. You are loved and missed by many people around here. May God bless your family and give them the Spirit of Comfort and endurance they will all need. May God bless you richly Brother Barney. We love you all.

God is near to those that are broken at heart and those crushed in spirit he saves. God will sustain you and help you to endure.

July 29, 2013

Good morning, Miss Billie. I am so glad we visited you a few weeks ago. It was wonderful to see that you still had your sense of humor. I will be so lonesome without you. I enjoyed calling you just to hear the music on your phone. I will miss that. Thank you for always being there for us. Bill, Bethan, and I were never too far away for you to visit us in the hospital. Bill said, "Billie is the most wonderful woman I know." We all love you, not loved you. That love will always be here. Bill, Bethan, and you are now together.

I remember: the commando games, "Annie-over", riding horses, making swords, playing under Big Mama's house to build roads and highways, hiding Big Mama's lamps in a "grave" in the garden (we never did find them).

Bethan and I enjoyed our Sundays with you and your family--and Wednesday night prayer meetings. There are so many ways I want to tell you how much I love you, but my tears are too many. I do not cry because I know where you are--I cry because I will not see you any more. Please tell my love ones how much I miss them and love them. I know that you can be next to us. I just wish I could feel you. How about making some of your chocolate candy and Sunday dinner!!!

I love you, your cousin Shirley

My dear cousin Billie, you will be greatly missed by all of us. I have so many fond memories of my time with you: spending weeks at your home in the summer, enjoying your delicious fudge candy, eating your scrumptious meals, watching you play basketball, etc. But most of all, you were such a great influence on my life. I love you, Billie Delaughter. I will truly miss you. Janie
