Bobby Pace Obituary

Bobby J. Pace

Brandon

Bobby Pace was born November 20, 1946, the seventh child of Wiley and Jocyphine Prestage Pace. He attended elementary and high school at Johns and Puckett Public School. He went to Hinds Community College and graduated from Mississippi College. He worked in banking and for MEMA for a period of time. The rest of his years, he was engaged in housing construction and repairs. The last years he worked for Larry Edwards and became a part of their family.

If you wanted to perk up his life all you had to say was "I need something." He never retired from doing and being who he was.

He and his wife, Joyce became earliest members of The Point United Methodist Church. This church family became extremely important to them. Most important was his wife, Joyce; his children, Todd, Jay and Amy; but most important was his granddaughters, Holly and Katherine. A close 2nd was his 4 legged children, his dogs and cats.

Bobby died October 16, 2016, at Hospice Ministries after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley and Jocyphine Pace; brothers, J. W. and Billy Ray Pace; sister, Myrtle Sanders Mills; brothers in law, Kermit Sanders and Elton Moore; and one sister in law, Donna Pace.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joyce Tillman Pace; daughter, Amy Hendry (Shannon); sons, Robert Joseph and Michael Todd (Brook Walters); two granddaughters, Katherine and Holly Hendry; two brothers, Tom Pace and Jim Pace; one sister, Louise Moore; sister in law, Ina Pace and brother in law, Noah Mills. He had 13 nieces and nephews and lots of great nieces and great nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 11 am from the Chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Johns Cemetery, Johns, MS. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 5 until 7 pm at Ott & Lee.

Think of Bobby a lot, especially when I go to Puckett to meet fellow wolves from the classes in the 60´s for lunch. The first Friday of each month...

I had known Bobby Pace since Hinds Jr. College. As the years went by, we started to work on the same day as evacuation planners for MEMA. We worked together for five years. I never worked with a kinder, more helpful man. My daughter, Brook, and Bobby´s son, Todd, have chosen to make a life together. Approximately seven months after Bobby´s passing, they were blessed with the birth of a little boy, Brody. Bobby would have been a wonderful Grandfather. He would be so proud of his precious Grandson!
