I was greatly saddened to learn of Aven's death. For many years—both while I lived in Greenwood and during decades of visits to see my parents—Aven was a frequent guest at my parent's dinner table and at various small social gatherings. He was a family friend. I will always associate Greenwood with him. He always had a smile and a interesting comment on the nature of life. He was a great conversationalist and could keep up with my mother and dad, no problem, which is saying a lot. He was charming and fun to be around. He was instrumental in making the memories of those days so special. Whenever he was there, things were better, brighter. His departure diminishes my world. I will miss him. I look to a long talk with him on the other side.
