Charles Secrest Obituary

Dr. Charles "Charlie" Ray Secrest, 76, died Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Services were held Saturday, August 2, 2008, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Paul Childress officiating. Interment was held in Chickasaw Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Dr. Secrest was born August 22, 1931, in Henderson, TX to the late Raymond Glenn Secrest and Burline Lloyd Secrest.
He was a veteran flight surgeon for the U.S. Air Force. He also practiced medicine for 35 years in Houston, MS. He understood that laughter was good medicine. He made his patients feel good. He loved people, he loved life, and would do anything for anybody. He was a member of McCondy Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Secrest of Houston; two sons, Dr. Chuck Secrest (Cathy) of Jackson and Dr. Brad Secrest (Mary) of Hattiesburg; and five grandchildren, Davis Secrest, Gray Secrest, Bennett Secrest, Virginia Secrest, and Sarah Neal Secrest.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joann Sharp Secrest and his parents.
Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 4830 McWillie Circle, Jackson, MS 39206.
Memorial Funeral Home of Houston is in charge of arrangements.
