Clarence Bilbo Obituary
Pensacola, FL
Clarence Richard Bilbo, 94, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Bay Breeze Nursing Home, Gulf Breeze, FL. He was born in Logtown, MS and his family moved to Jackson, MS when he was a small boy where he lived until he went in the Navy. He was a World War II Veteran and retired from the Navy after 23 years of Service. He was a member of East Brent Baptist Church, Pensacola, FL., a deacon in the Baptist Church for over 60 years, a member of Myrtle Grove Masonic Lodge, an honorary member of Gulf Breeze Masonic Lodge, he has been a Mason for over 60 years. Bill was an avid southern gospel quartet music fan.
He was preceded in death by his first wife,"Pat." He is survived by his wife, Willene; son, David; daughter, Pamela Hall (Jim); stepdaughter, Carla Emlet; stepson, Richard Cumby; stepson, Carl Cumby; grandson, Clinton Mathis (Pam); granddaughter, Virginia Mathis; step grandson, Scott Reid (Michelle), Donna Pursley (Brent), numerous great grandchildren and many other family members and numerous friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Friday, January 17, 2014 at East Brent Baptist Church, Pensacola. FL with Dr. Dale Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services.
Active pallbearers will be Clinton Mathis, Richard Cumby, Carl Cumby, Scott Reid, Brent Pursley and Ralph McQuigg.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Senior Men's Sunday School Class.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in memory of Mr. Bilbo to the building fund of East Brent Baptist Church.
