Daniel Ray Windham, 62, passed away Thurs. Sept. 3, 2015 at his home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held on Sat. Sept. 5, 2015 from 10am-10:45am at Meadow Grove Baptist Church in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services will be 11am Sat. Sept. 5, 2015 at the Meadow Grove Baptist Church in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.
Dan was born in Verdon, France and was a longtime businessman and resident of Pearl, MS. He attended Meadow Grove Baptist Church in Brandon, MS. Dan was the owner of Windham Optical in Pearl, MS since 1979. He was an avid squirrel hunter and outdoorsman who raised champion squirrel dogs including his beloved Jill and Hammer. Dan was a charter member of the Country Junction Coffee Club. He was a great servant to the Lord, his family and many others. Dan loved and appreciated all of his many friends. He was a wonderful, and loving family man who will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Windham; five children, Daniel Windham, Jr., Jake Windham (Kristen), Michelle Richardson (Jeremy), April Sunshine Windham-Moore (Joe) and Mitchell Marble (Megan); and ten grandchildren, Garrett Windham, Savannah Labor, Sky "Buck" Labor, Jonah Jones, Gage Richardson, Cole Richardson, Mason Marble, Maclain "Willie" Marble, Maggie Kate Windham, and Staten Windham. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Ginette Windham.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Eugene Green Ministries at Lone Oak Community Church, P. O. Box 457, Lone Oak, TX 75453.

I just found out about Dan's passing this morning my family and I have been getting our glasses from Dan for many years but he was also a great friend. When my husband was living they would take a lot and when he passed Dan was a good friend to me. I am so sorry and will miss him a lot

Dan will surely be missed. I started buying glasses from Windham when I was in high school. No matter what state my husband and I was in due to military travel, Dan would assist me if I needed it. Dan was a great friend for many years.

I just learned of Dan's passing this afternoon because I went by shop to get some new glasses. I started going to him in the '70's for glasses. I moved out of state for 24 yrs and when I moved back to MS, one of my first stops was to get glasses from him. He was a dear person and will be missed greatly. Prayers to all the family.

I remember riding the school bus with Daniel in the 6th grade & he was just like "Dennis the Menace" on television! He truly loved life & made so many, many people smile. I will never forget him.

Your dad was a "one of a kind" kind of fellow --- he could communicate with young and the old. My daddy thought of him as family, sharing his knowledge of old tractors, tools, and squirel dogs with him over a cup of coffee. My mother made him tea cakes and preserves. Yes, your daddy will be missed by my family, but oh the happy memories we made while he was with us.

Me and my family's condolences and prayers for Dan and all of his family. Dan put me in my first pair of glasses when I was 15 and his honest outgoing concern for his customers was the best. Dan had what I call a magic touch for fitting you with what you needed and what looked the best on you. Dan truly was a great friend and he showed this to my whole family and also helped my family when my Dad passed over 6 years ago. Dan is with the Creator now and is still watching over us.
