David Walters Obituary

David "Noble" Walters

Jackson - David "Noble" Walters, 92, died peacefully at Baptist Hospital on July 8, 2018. Noble was a WWII Veteran, a Purple Heart recipient, a proud American, and a 32 Degree Master Freemason. He retired from the oil field and also worked as a master brick mason. Noble impacted many lives in his 92 years. For over 40 years, he shared the love of Jesus through ministry at the Hinds County Youth Detention Center. His life was spent in service to others. He lived life to the fullest and never failed to give God the honor and glory for all his many blessings.

Noble was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Those who encountered him knew that he loved Jesus, and never left his presence without a good laugh. He was one of a kind. He had many talents including mechanics, gardening, woodworking, and building. He did not believe in idleness (or laziness). He was charming, wise, and witty. We are so thankful for his legacy of love, discipline, leadership, service and work ethic.

He is preceded in death by his wife Rose Mary Walters. He is survived by his children Jeannie (Delton) Beall, Bill (Donna) Walters, Marsha Walters, Carole (Keith) Hutchison, his grandchildren Nicole, Matt (Adrienne), Daniel (Brooke), Cara (Ben), Hunter, Colten, Kyle, and great grandchildren Caleb, Avery, Emily, Penelope, Lyndsey, and Hazel.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 10 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Wright and Ferguson in Clinton, MS. my Dad, Billy Chisolm told me a story about Noble when he worked on the oil rigs and when they shot pool off of 80 in Jackson. He according to my Dad was quit a character and was fun to be around. I know he will be missed by many. Carol and Keith are such good people and must carry a lot of his traits.
