As a newsman I spent a lot of time with Donnie just prior to her husband being released. I will never forget the night she got the call from him when he arrived in the Philipines. She was kind enough to let us sit there thru the night waiting for the call so we could film it for television.
I will never forget the look on her face when she was finally able to talk to him after 7 long years, the sheer joy she felt.
She was a fine lady, lots of class, she was a friend.
