I just now came across this obituary. Ed and I became friends through Ferrari Club events going back to 1997. He was always friendly to everyone and shared his passion and knowledge openly. He became a trusted advisor in my auto pursuits. I look back on our friendship with great respect for Ed. My belated condolences to his loved ones. George Koehn

I did not know Ed too well, but I have been around him and he shared the passion for those beautiful Italian cars we all love. We participated in the same rallies a few times and we have the good memories that stay with us forever.
We will be joining him sooner or later. I hope he finds us some good roads up there to rally on. RIP Ed.

For the Wettach family, Maggie and I are so very saddened to think of a future without Ed's counsel, friendship and wonderful sense of humor. I feel so fortunate to be part of the Ferrari of Atlanta family and for the friendship he and I had.

Eleanor:
we never met. I am Ed's cousin Bob Derrickson. As Ed was caught up in "staying alive", I was not aware of his health when I finaloly halted the RAT RACE and obtained mom's phone book. I spoke Eddie on a flight home from Atlanta. I'm so glad I finally was able to recall my experiences with both he and Uncle Ed. Especially my grunt work working @ Uncle Ray's where Uncle Ed studied the New York Times for hours on end. I'm shocked. My condolences to all. (24) 989-8262 if you ever need to catchup on our childhood!

Dear Eleanor, Web, you and yours,
We wish our deepest sympathy.
I see many names I remember from the past posting condolence. Ed touched so many people. Always greeting you with that "Ed" smile and giggle.
I will miss him greatly, as both a friend and a special patron of the arts. He was a huge catalyst in my early days as a professional artist, and I will never forget the support and encouragement he gave me. His personal advice was always filled with wisdom and just enough humor for the message to sink in.
I looked up to him as a mentor, and he was always there with salient advice to push forward.

Ed was a faithful friend to me and my late husband, Gerald. It is such a great loss to the automotive industry for a person of Ed's caliber and one that has left a void to which will not be easily replaced.

Mr. Wettach was a guest at The Hilton Garden Inn where i work. I got to know him very well. I told him that my son loved cars... This was about 3 years ago... He invited my family to his Ferrari dealership in Alpharetta so my son could see and sit in all the cars. He made a point to spend that time with us. I will never forget that or his kindness.... You will be greatly missed!
