I was a friend of Calvin Flint through the Conger family. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Edwin Flint several weeks ago when I was looking for a serial number of a shot gun I purchased from Flint Brothers well over forty years ago. He acted like I had just bought it the day before. He went more than the proverbial extra mile with me and stayed way past "quiting time." I told several friends that I had met a merchant who is very rare in today's world. He actually repaired a bicycle for a little boy and charged his daddy about $4 for the repair while I was waiting to see him. That's the kind of merchant I like to do business with. I am sure you and the Batesville community will miss him, but I just wanted you to know the impression he made on me and how refreshing it was to meet him.

We will certainly miss Mr Armistead. He always brightened our day whenever we saw him. He had the most warm, friendly, and pleasant way about him. Love to all of you from Louise and George Land.
