Ethel Langley Obituary

Ethel Morris Langley

Jackson

Our dear Ethel passed peacefully with family at her side after having battled lung cancer for seven years. Born in Meridian, MS to Sadie and George Morris, Ethel was the eldest of two daughters. After marrying the love of her life, Edward T. Langley, in 1956 in Jackson, MS, Ethel began her new life as the wife of a Navy pilot. Military life suited Ethel well and although she and her daughter endured several years alone during Ed's many deployments, the family also enjoyed the benefits of traveling to exotic places, including Okinawa, Hiroshima, Bangkok, Taipei and Hong Kong, they also lived in Honolulu, HI for three years, which Ethel loved. After returning to Southern CA, where many of their long-time military friends lived, Ed retired from the Marine Corps in 1976. They lived in Mission Viejo and Ed worked for Fluor Corporation and for Northrop Corporation on the B-2 Project and retired in 1992. Ethel is survived by her loving husband, retired Lt. Col. Edward T. Langley, USMC; daughter, Leigh Buxton; two granddaughters, Bethany Rachel and Gina Propst; four great grandchildren; her niece and nephew, Kimberly Bullock and Clay Bullock. In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her sister, Ernestine Bullock. Although Ethel's beautiful smile and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her, we are comforted knowing she is finally at peace with the Lord. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ethel's honor to "A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation" (P.O. Box 387, Wayzata. MN 55391 http://abreathofhope.org/).
