Eugene Adcock, 78, passed away Tues. May 31, 2016, at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Thurs., June 2, 2016 from 5pm-8pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral services are 10am on Fri., June 3, 2016, at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.

Mr. Adcock was born in Philadelphia, MS and was a longtime resident of Rankin County, MS. He was a member of the Pearson Road Baptist Church in Pearl, MS. Mr. Adcock was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was a world class marksman and competed in skeet, rifle and pistol competitions. Mr. Adcock was a former Police Chief with the Pearl Police Department and in his younger years he worked as a Constable and Sheriff Deputy with the Rankin County Sheriff Department. He attended the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA and was also a member of the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Adcock; five children, Michael Eugene Adcock (Sharon), Debbie Blackwell (John), Mitchell Adcock (Christy), Ashley Green (Cindy) and Austin Adcock; 11 grandchildren, Cameron Adcock, Katherine Adcock, Brad Blackwell, Brianna Blackwell, Kurt Adcock, Andrew Ross, Eric Adcock, Christopher Ross, Corgan Green, Eden Green and Ivan Green; 2 great grandchildren, Riley Blackwell and Avery Ross; sister, Lafayne Tucker and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Adcock was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Myrtle Adcock; and a brother, Eudene Adcock.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society, MS Chapter at 408 Fontaine Place, Suite 104, Ridgeland, MS 39157.

I met Gene back when he was a constable beat 2 . The Year was 1969, I was the Night Radio Operator and Jailer of the Rankin Sheriffs Office. He was always a friend. I have a dozen stories I could tell about Gene and all of them are Good.
