Frances Pullin Obituary

Frances Thames Pullin, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2007, after a lengthy hospitalization. Visitation is scheduled for 4-8 p.m. today, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church Polkville.

Born January 29, 1933, she grew up in the Center Community and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. After graduation from Monticello High School, she attended Mississippi College and then worked as a bookkeeper in the Lawrence County Courthouse. There she met a young county agent, Ted Pullin, who became her husband and lifetime companion through 50 happy years of marriage.

She worked as a homemaker and full-time mom to Debbie McCollum of Clinton; Phillip Pullin of Sicklerville, N. J.; and Delena Rial of Brandon. She took great delight in her six grandchildren: Cole, Cassie and Courtney McCollum and Jack, Ben, and Reece Rial.

A member of Polkville Baptist Church, her chief goal in life was to live for Christ. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. (Pr. 31:28.)

She is survived by her brother, Lamon Thames of Baton Rouge, La. as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Laney and Elberta Thames, and sister Vela Grace Thames.

Frances was a special person with a quiet way about her. Our children grew up together and Debbie was in my Debbie's wedding. She was in my Sunday Class and added so much to it. We will miss her even though I have not seen her for years. Our prayers are with you.
