I remember George Dale Ladner, who lived across the street from d'Iberville High School, where I spent my early school years and graduated in 1959. I was in Junior High when he was a senior and as a very young girl,I was aware of his outstanding superiority as a student and citizen.
He carried his books as he walked the halls and I was impressed to see him so friendly, yet serious, hard working, yet popular. I sometimes saw a smile as he passed by. He was one of a kind and I often thought of him, as I passed his home, still across the street from our school, until recent years.
I graduated and became a teacher and have lived my life in d'Iberville, the best little town in the world. I will always remember George, perhaps a role model for a bookworm like me. My siblings and I remember him as a good example for young people.

Jane and your children Mark, Kirk, and Hope, I was saddened to learn of the passing of my high school and college classmate George Dale. He was such a great role model for his family, in matters of education and faith. I last saw George Dale when I was a principal at Central H.S. in Jackson and you and George Dale invited me to your home for a meal and visit and to meet your children. During my four years in Jackson I would occasionally run into both of you at concerts and plays. I went on to earn my doctorate from USM and joined the faculty at Purdue University and retired from there in 1995 and returned home to Biloxi. The obituary captured the essence of your husband and father perfectly. May he rest in peace, and may you be lifted up by the great memories of a life well lived.--Dr. Jerry Rodriguez

My condolences to the Ladner family; Dr.Ladner was a pleasure to work with here in Lawrence County. I will always remember helping him with a flat tire on the highway once. He was so grateful I stopped and helped and we became friends at that point. But he was really a nice, fun person. He will be missed.

Jane, Mark, Kirk and Hope: I felt so sad this morning when I read about Dr. Ladner/George. I will always remember him fondly from our days of being neighbors. The Ladners - all of you - are very special people. Holden and I are out of town and will not be able to attend any of the services. I pray for God's comfort and blessings on all of you. With love, Holden and Mary O'Gwynn

Working with Dr. Ladner as a PRN therapist at the Lawrence Co. Hospital IOP was refreshing. He was so attentive to the patients. I will remember his affinity for "Barbra" and snacks he wasn't supposed to eat, and stories of his grand kids. MS has lost a great medical practitioner. My condolences to his family.

May our Comforter console you in this time. The nurses on Bldg 83 loved Dr Ladner, his perky personality, his quest for excellence, his love for family and his desire for the best for our patients at MSH. I miss him dearly.
