Harold Lewis Obituary
Philadelphia - Harold Lewis was born July 4, 1933, and died May 8, 2018, age 84, at Neshoba General Hospital.
Services will be held Friday, May 11, 2018, at McClain-Hays Chapel with Dr. Dan Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Mars Hill Cemetery in Neshoba County.
Mr. Lewis was born and reared in the Shady Grove community of Neshoba County. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University and taught school one year. He served in the Mississippi National Guard and the U. S. Army. He worked in banking and finance in Clarksdale before moving back to Philadelphia in 1971 to help open Peoples Bank of Mississippi where he served as branch president. In 1982, he went to work with W. W. Dungan where they were partners in oil exploration, timber, land development and home building until they retired in 2011. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he was a deacon, past member of the Lions Club, and past president of the Neshoba County Forestry Association. He was a past member of the board of Mississippi Business Finance Corporation and Mississippi Development Bank for 20 years, and a past board member of Bank of Philadelphia.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Dorothy; daughter, Sally Fracchia and husband Trey of Memphis; son, Scott and wife Sandi of Philadelphia; granddaughters, Victoria Warren and husband Jeremy of San Antonio, TX, and Anna Fracchia of Memphis; great-grandsons, Brayden, Kale and Logan; and sister, Elizabeth Goldman of Huntsville, AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Sallie Lewis; sister, Carolyn Lewis Carter; and brother, Richard Scott Lewis.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 414 Pecan Avenue, Philadelphia, MS 39350.
