Iva Pope Obituary
Kosciusko
Mrs. Iva Lou Pope, 83, of Kosciusko, MS, passed away at Saint Dominic Hospital on April 18, 2013. Mrs. Pope was born in Winston County on January 22, 1930 to the late Bennie Taylor Ganey and Thema Lillian Owen Ganey. Over the span of her career she was a homemaker and worked with Baldwin Piano Company and retired from Attala Nursing Home.
She is survived by two sons, Randale (Dorene) Pope and Terry ( Vicky) Pope of Kosciusko; three daughters, Retha (Philip) Bushby of Starkville, Pam (Danny) Ladd,
and Linda Shelley of Kosciusko; one sister Zeddie Prinz of Fortworth, Texas, 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leo Pope, and two sons, Timothy Pope and Allen Pope, infant daughter, Greta Pope, 3 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 1 great grandson and 1 great granddaughter.
Visitation for Mrs. Pope is scheduled for Saturday, April 20 at Culpepper Funeral Home in Kosciusko from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for April 21, 2013 at 2 p.m. with visitation after 1 p.m. at Old Mars Hill Church. The service will be conducted by Rev. Lanoy Burks and Rev. Ronald Jenkins with Culpepper Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Interment will be in Old Mars Hills Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Glennis Nowell, Mark Ballard, Scott Pope, Josh Pope, Jason Bushby, Erik Soward, Taylor Nowell and Parker Morgan.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the following cemetery funds: Old Mars Hill Cemetery Fund (Hugh Ella Thompson 601-656-6653); Small Wood Community Church Cemetery Fund (Glenda Jenkins 601-562-7034) ; Nebo Cemetery Fund (Linda Shelley 662-290-7493).
