James Thaxton Obituary

James Paul Thaxton, Jr. passed away in his home in Starkville on Wednesday, October 17, 2007.
Mr. Thaxton was born in Longview on September 6, 1941 to James and Christine Edwards Thaxton. Services are scheduled for Saturday, October 20 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, October 19 at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville from 5-7 p.m. Visitation will be followed by a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. in the Welch Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Services will be conducted by Father John Bohn.
Paul is survived by his wife Yvonne V. Thaxton; three daughters, Pamela S. Thaxton, Paige T. Burke, son-in-law, Sharkey Burke, Jr, and Patricia T. Gelsomino; four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, and sister, Deborah E. Thaxton.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the St. Joseph Foundation of the Catholic Foundation of Diocese of Mississippi or to Mississippi State University Department of Poultry Science.
