Jane Courtney Sigrest Quattlebaum

Flora - Jane Courtney Sigrest Quattlebaum, 85, died Friday, September 28, 2018 in her home in Flora. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Flora, the Rev. Dr. Joe Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Flora Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until the hours of the service on Tuesday at the church.

A native and lifelong resident of Flora, born June 27, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Americas Sigrest, Jr. and Ruby Hazel Thompson Sigrest.

Of Jane's many talents and hobbies were sewing and artistic abilities especially with any type of crafts. She was also a collector of antiques and was an excellent cook. Above all, Jane loved the Lord and her family more than anything. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and loyal friend. She will be remembered for how she gave love to her children and her family and, in turn, taught them how to love. She will be missed dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Herman Thomas Quattlebaum, Sr.; and sisters, Jackie Rankin and Jenny Lou Phillips. She is survived by daughter, Janette Martin; sons, Tommy Quattlebaum and Randy Quattlebaum (Brenda); daughter, Johanna Bowman (Kenneth); son, Kevin Quattlebaum; sister, Judith Aileen Bradshaw (Bob); brother, Tony Sigrest (Mary); grandchildren: Jackie, Paula, Paul, Dale, Joseph, Matthew, Christy, Jeremy, Melanie, Alicia, and Amy; great grandchildren: Jacob, Vinnie, Hunter, Caetlind, McKayla, Landen, Spencer, Seth, Maygan, Ashlee, Hayden, Reese, James, Lucy Jane, Brittney, Anna, Trace, Wyatt, Alysha, Ashley, Rachel, Jonathan, Addy, and Ivy; great great grandchildren: Mathias, Eira Jane, and McKenzi; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

The family, especially Janette, Tommy, Randy, and Johanna, wish to express their love and gratefulness to their little brother, Kevin, for his devoted, tender and loving care provided to their mother. The family is grateful to Jane's hospice caregivers: Lauren, Brenda, and Autumn for the excellent care they provided as well.

So very sorry for your loss. Your parents were so kind to my parents for the many years they lived in Flora. Kevin, it always felt like you were a part of our family, especially before my brother died. Dad just turned 90 years old but he still speaks fondly of you and Tommy. We will keep all of you in our prayers!
