Mrs. Jean Dykes, 78, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at River Region Hospital in Vicksburg, MS. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park on Wednesday at 1:00 PM.
Mrs. Dykes was a wonderful and loving wife, caring and devoted mother, and a great friend to many. She lived her life as a Christian who loved the Lord and demonstrated it daily. She devoted her life to caring and doing for others without hesitation. Crocheting, artwork, and reading were her passion. She gave unconditional love to all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew Hardin and Roma Ree Wells Pope and one brother, Bernard Pope.
Mrs. Dykes is survived by her husband, Randy Dykes; sons, Jeff Dykes (daughter-in-law, Martha); Rand Dykes; daughters, Paige Dykes and Amy Dykes Lewis (son-in-law, Michael); brothers, Dr. Kenneth Pope (sister-in-law, Susan) and Jimmie Lee Pope (sister-in-law, Glenda); sister-in-law, Pat Pope; grandchildren, Cyan Dykes, Alexa Dykes, Brandon Avdoyan, Haley Lewis.

This woman put plenty of smiles on my face back in the day at Deposit Guaranty. I was Charlene Burnley at the time. I remember very well, her sitting in her office crocheting dang afghans. My condolences....

Mr. Dykes and Rand I wanted you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time of loss of Mrs. Dykes. I always enjoyed helping all of y'all out at the pharmacy. I know she will be missed.
