He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; and sets me on high places. II Samuel 22:34

He is survived by his wife, Madeline; three children, Shannon Reeder Riley and her husband, Michael, Hailey Reeder and Beau Reeder; two grandchildren, Emily Grace and Caroline Faith Riley; his mother, Patricia Anne Reeder; special family friend, Carlos Parra; and former wife and friend, Wanda Thompson. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe F. Reeder, Jr. and Almetus Reeder, whom Joe lovingly referred to as Nanny and Paw.

Pallbearers are Greg Deville, Heath Jenkins, Robert Lamb, Mel McLeod, Robert Reeder and Cecil Swanson. Honorary pallbearers are Boomer Blissett, Buddy Jenkins, Larry Smith, Ernest Swanson, Sr., Terry Swanson, Bootsie Villere, David Villere and Gary Windham.

Please accept my heart felt sadness for your family. I was Joe's teacher and friend at CHA. He was an adult as he was a child, a good person with a great love for family and friends. Little Joe is now at peace with Jesus, see you later Little Joe!

I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Joe very long, but I have seen the love his children and family have for him. I know he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. My heart and prayers are with each of you in the days ahead.

Joe and I first met at Chamberlain-Hunt Academy in Port Gibson, MS back in 1974. We were both managers for the football team. I think that this is where the "Little Joe" started.I was "Hoss" and he was "Little Joe". It didn't help matters any that Joe was about the size of a squirrel at the time!
