Lela Bush Obituary

Funeral Mass for Lela Rose Morlino Bush, 64, of Lake Village, AR and formerly of Leland will be at 10:00 a.m. today, August 21, 2010, at St. James Catholic Church. She departed this life peacefully on Thursday, August 19, 2010, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Lake Village, AR. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
She was born July 3, 1946 in Woodville, MS but was a lifelong resident of Leland until she retired. Lela Rose attended the Leland Public Schools and received her registered nursing degree from Mississippi Delta Community College. She was a Healing Touch Practitioner and studied oriental medicine in China during 1997-1998. She had worked at Delta Regional Hospital, the Delta Area Hospice Care, and when she retired, she was employed by Dr. Maroun Hayek at Delta Cancer Institute. She was a devout communicant of St. James Catholic Church in Leland where she was a lay Eucharistic minister and a layreader. Lela Rose was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family and friends describe her as a person who never met a stranger and was always willing to extend a helping hand. They said that she always had a smile on her face even while battling the cancer that claimed her life. She loved to dance and was a favorite with all at Lillo's on Thursday nights. Her husband, Jim, and daughter, Beth, best described her when they said, "She was a shining light, always reaching out; she devoted her entire life to helping others in need".
She was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice Bradley Morlino and a brother, Bradley Morlino.
She leaves her husband, James "Jim" S. Bush of Lake Village; her father, Phillip "Buster" Morlino and her brother, Buster Morlino, Jr., both of Leland; two daughters, Alice Elizabeth "Beth" Olcese and Eleanor Beatrice "Ellie" Lasater of Greenville. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Rose Jacks, Erica Jacks, Jennifer Barrow, Jessica Ring, and Bradley Russell; and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves two nieces, Alison Morlino and Rebecca Peacock and a nephew, Daniel Morlino.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Morlino, Greg Morlino, Joe Robert Campbell, Matt King, Chuck Dawkins and Kim Sabbatini. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rusty King, Philip Lee and Paul Bush.
The family request memorials be made to St. James Catholic Church in Leland.

Lela was an angel on this earth and her beautiful Light will be missed deeply by all. Although, we all know that she will never be far and will be oh so busy helping everyone from the other side. Lelah, Sweet Angel, I was blessed to know you and feel your love. I welcome your essence anytime you choose to visit. Jim, my thoughts and prayers are with you, I know you grieve her absence in your physical life.
