Marcus Ely Obituary
Gluckstadt
Marcus Jones Ely, age 15, died on December 8, 2013 at University Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with Leukemia. A memorial service celebrating his life will be 3:00pm Friday, December 13, 2013 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Madison with visitation from 1:30pm until the time of service.
Marc was born December 22, 1997 and was a native of Indianola, MS. He has lived in Gluckstadt since 2001 and attended Madison Avenue Elementary, Madison Crossing Middle School, Germantown Middle School and Germantown High School. He had many friends and was very social. Marc was always happy and always had a great attitude in life. He enjoyed hunting at the Dancing Rabbit Hunt Club and did a lot of his hunting at the Weeks Hog and Squirrel Camp. He also loved to ride four wheelers and especially driving his truck. He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
Marc is preceded in death by his maternal grandparent, Donald Chew and paternal grandparents, Sammy Ely and Joan Ely.
Marc is survived by his parents, Jones Ely and Debbie Chew Ely of Gluckstadt; siblings, Maggie Ely of Gluckstadt and Scott Ely and Newton Ely both of Gibsonville, N.C.; and maternal grandmother, Sue Bullock of Ridgeland.
A special thank you to the UMC family for their kindness and care during Marc's years of treatment.

I do not know you or your son, but I just read the article in the clarionledger and as I read it tears where flowing down my face. I am so sorry for your loss. I know the Lord is watching over Marc and he is now well. I pray the Lord will continue to wrap his loving arms around you and you family thru the holidays and the days to come!
