Peggy Burns Obituary

Peggy Louise Burns, 80, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2010 after a lengthy illness with cancer. She was born September 2, 1930 in Jackson, Mississippi, to the late Clyde Campbell Burns and Hazel Coker Burns.
She was a graduate of Clinton High School in 1948. She was employed for years in the photography industry in Jackson and Mobile, Alabama.
Peggy was a member of the Joe Jefferson Theater Players where she was in several productions, and a charter member of the American Business Women's Association, D'Iberville Chapter.
Peggy is survived by brothers, James Campbell Burns of Magee, Gary Allen Burns of Vicksburg; and sisters, Delores Burns Hammons (Luther) of Madison, Hazel Burns Holmes (James E) of Canton, and Carol Burns Burland of Madison.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Clyde Welton Burns; and sister, Sarah Ann Burns. Peggy was dearly loved by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many family members.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, November 4, 2010 at the chapel of Wright and Ferguson Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland. Visitation will begin at 12 noon preceding the service. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton Boulevard.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 234 West Jackson Street, Ridgeland, MS 39157.
