Richard D. "Rich" Hammett, Jr.

Lexington

Richard D. "Rich" Hammett, Jr., 44, died April 19, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services were held on April 22, 2015 at Beulah Baptist Church in Lexington. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington. Bro. Shannon Davis officiated. Pallbearers were Dan Hart, Chase Hammett, Chad Adams, Phil Grantham, Thomas Taylor and Steve Tackitt.

Rich was a plant manager with Hammett Gravel Company, a Central Holmes Academy graduate, a U. S. Air Force veteran and a member of Beulah Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Kasey Tackitt Hammett of Lexington; sons, Perry Hammett, Jesse Hammett and Joseph Hammett of Lexington; parents, Richard and Christine Hearn Hammett of Lexington; brother, Hal Hammett of Madison and sister, Christina Hammett Chiz of Cleveland, MS.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dolph and Vergie Hammett and John and Nancy Hearn.

Memorial may be made to Beulah Baptist Church, P.O. Box 629, Lexington, MS 39095.

Rich was a good frind. He and I worked on my farm together. I knew him to be honest , a hard worker and good family man. My family will mis him. May the family find peace as you move forward in life.Our family will continue to Pray for the Hammetts.
