To Hursie & Sullivan Family, my sincere sympathy on the loss of a great man in so many lives. News of Richard's passing knocked the wind out of me and I am still feeling the effects. I know you miss him too but take comfort in knowing God gave him eternal, peaceful rest. He's your everlasting Angel, watching over all he left behind. God bless you, my friend. I weep with you. You're all in my prayers. See you in church soon. Love,

I send my condolences to Richard's family during this time of bereavement. I was the secretary in the Chemistry Department at Jackson State University, 1984 to 1988, when he was Department Chair. He had a long lasting impact on me professionally, and I am forever grateful. Peace and blessings to all who loved him.

I consider Richard a good person, and a close friend and fraternity brother. We were commissioned 2LT in the Army's Air Defense Command and did officer basic together at Fort Bliss. We shared interests in the huge contributions South Carolina State College made in the lives of so many young people and worked together up until his death to rebuild the University. He always answered the call when making contributions to SCSU. His death brings sadness and to his family I pray that they will continue to be blessed as they were with him.

Very sorry to hear of the passing of my fellow chemistry classmate from SC State University. Richard was always a great competitor, a great student and he always thought he could beat me singing. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. May God bless each of you.
