Shirley Allen

Ridgeland - Shirley Allen, 81 years of age, of Ridgeland, passed away on October 9, 2018 at Chateau Ridgeland where she has resided for the past year.

She was born on February 25, 1937 to Charles Barto and Ruby (Creel) Hollingsworth in Newton County, MS. She was married to her late husband James Allen for 62 years and they moved to Ridgeland 23 years ago. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved flowers, gardening and antiquing.

She is survived by two daughters, Tanya A. Jones of Ridgeland, MS., Teresa A. Sones and her husband Jeff of Flora, MS., three sons, Tim Allen, MD and his wife Kathy Nieder MD of Louisville, KY., Terry Allen and his wife Donna of Madison, MS and Todd Allen and his wife Charmane of Madison, MS., 14 grandchildren, Kat Allen of Savannah, GA., Kelly Allen of Austin, TX, Molly J. Reid of Petal, MS., Maggie Jones of Ridgeland, MS., Emily Sham of Ocean Springs, MS., Michael Allen of Madison, MS Sarah Sones, Justin Sones, Becky Sones, Jacob Sones, Joseph Sones, & James Sones all of Flora, MS and Chase Allen and Haley Grace Allen of Madison, MS., 4 Great grandchildren, Emma Reid, Henry Reid, Sam Reid, Taylor Marie Sham and two great grandchildren on the way; twin sister Charlotte Nicholson of Philadelphia, MS and 8 nieces and 5 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Allen, father, Charles Barto Hollingsworth, mother, Ruby Lee Hollingsworth, brothers, Freddie Joe Hollingsworth and Robert Harold Hollingsworth.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018, 9:00 am - 10:00 am at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison, MS with a 10:00am funeral service to follow in the chapel. Interment will be in Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials in her name are suggested to: Freedom Fellowship, ICU Ministries P.O. Box 126 Ludlow, MS 39098.
