Steve Rankin Obituary
Jackson
Steve K. Rankin, 64, died August 21, 2011 at home of cancer. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lakewood Memorial Park South. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland.Survivors include: longtime companion, Paulette Dunkin of Jackson; sister, Rebecca Clay of Millbrook, AL; aunts, Jewel Cooper of Jackson; Genella Doucet of Taylor, TX; uncle; Melvin Trawick of Vinton, LA; 2 nieces and 3 nephews.

I just found out about Steve's passing. knew him well at Mississippi College and into the 70's. After I got married I lost touch with him and never knew how to get in touch with him. I was living in Georgia when he passed.

Steve was a friend of mine of long standing. He had a big heart, a great interest in people and in life in general, and a wonderful mind.He was one of the most interesting people I have ever known. I send my deepest condolences to Paulette, and to all of Steve's family. I feel fortunate to have been his friend.
