Stuart Smith Obituary
Canton
Stuart Shelby Smith, 24, was born on January 27, 1991 to Rai and Clark Smith. He joined his Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ on Monday, November 9, 2015.
Stuart graduated from Canton Academy where he played baseball and football. In addition to other honors, he was voted Mr. C.A. Stuart continued his education at Mississippi State University, where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsion Fraternity. While at Mississippi State he was employed by Campus Book Mart. For the last two years he has been employed by Shelby Smith's, Inc. where he was training to take over.
On March 12, 2015, he married his high school sweetheart, Katelyn Morgan. In addition to his wife, Stuart is survived by his parents, Rai and Clark Smith; his brothers, Patrick and Daniel; his maternal grandparents, Virginia and Raiford Phillips of Flora and his paternal grandparents, Carolyn and Shelby Smith of Canton. He is also survived by three aunts and their families; Caroline Williams, Luann Carter, and Margaret Welch.
Stuart's infectious smile and vibrant personality attracted everyone to him. He was a very Christian man who was loved by all. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved baseball, hunting, fishing, and golf. Everyone who knew him was aware of his passion for music.
Visitation will be at Breeland Funeral Home on Thursday, November 12, 2015, from 5:00 to 7:00. Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 11:00 am with burial at the Canton Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Mackie Simpson, Paul Dowdle, Graham Wells, Matt Kennedy, Reed Brantley, Matt Lynch, Richard McGee, Jay Michael Forrest, Brian Lovelace, Tyler McGraw, Bill Reeves, Justin Snow, Daniel Harreld, Jimmy Stewart, Jeffrey Davis, Kyle Michael Millican, and Cody Saxton. A special seat is being left open for his best friend, Scott Lloyd, who died in 2008. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Shelby Smith's, Inc.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to: Canton Academy, 1 Nancy Drive, Canton, MS 39046 or Mississippi Blood Services, 115 Tree Street, Flowood, MS 39232.

You have been in my thoughts and prayers! I remember Stuart as a funny and precocious little boy, always with a smile, just like his Mama! I pray that God will give you comfort and strength to walk this journey of grief and to know that you will, over time, feel happiness and peace. I am also praying for the grandparents, who most assuredly are trying to find a way to comfort you both as well as deal with their tremendous loss. Prayers and love for Stuart's entire family.

My heart goes out to the Smith family. Though I never met Stuart, I knew of him through his parents and grandparents as well.
