Theodore Moses Obituary

Theodore "Theo" Moses, 94, a retired mechanic, died August 6, 2007, at his residence. Visitation is Thursday, August 9, 9:30 am until service time at 11am at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Southern Funeral Home in Lexington, MS is handling the arrangements.
Mr. Moses was born on December 9, 1912 in Vaiden, Miss., to James Ernest Moses and Linda Moses Fritz. Except for his early childhood, Mr. Moses lived in Lexington all his life. He graduated from Lexington High School and was on the Lexington High football team. He served in the Naval Airforce during WWII. Mr. Moses was a mechanic for many years. After retirement at age 62, he enjoyed farming with his son for another 23 years. His interests included fishing, sign painting, duck hunting and listening to MSU sports. He loved the Lord Jesus and one of his favorite verses was Isaiah 26:3, "He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in Him." Mr. Moses was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include:his wife of 69 years, Dell Jordan Moses of Lexington; two daughters, Nancy Goss and her husband, Allen of Fort Worth, Texas and Janie Harris and her husband, Ellis, of Cruger, MS; one son, Theodore Allen Moses and his wife, Stella of Tchula, MS; one sister, Bessie Lou Holder of Clinton, MS; nine grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by two sons, William Jordan and Charles Edward Moses; two brothers, John William and Thurman Moses.
