Mrs. Braden was my caring 6 grade teacher. After my graduation from Tougaloo College on 1977, it was great seeing her at Commencement Ceremony over the many years. I would share with her what was going on.
She will be truly missed.

To my adopted, extended family, Keith, Kyle, and Ivor. Your mom (Mama Braden) was a mother to me when I needed her at the age of 11 years old as a student in her class. My family was devastated and fractured both physically and emotionally by a house fire that took two of my younger brothers. Mama Braden took me under her wing and accepted me as part of her family.

Mama Braden was kind, compassionate, wise, intelligent, quick-witted, easy to love and give love. She inspired me in so many ways. I became an educator because of her guidance.

I love your mom like my own. She would always greet me by my full name, Gloria Ann Donelson King , whenever I’d call or visit her. She’ll always be Mama Braden to me. I will miss her and our talks dearly. My deepest condolences and love to you all. Mama Braden will always remain in my heart.
