Brett Gilbert Obituary

Brett Odean Gilbert, lovingly known as "B-Jet," gracefully departed from this world on September 21, 2025, leaving behind a legacy defined by kindness, love, and a spirit that resonated with all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Born on December 15, 1961, in beautiful Wyoming, Brett carved an extraordinary life marked by both professional dedication and a passion for adventure.

A process operator at British Petroleum for 40 years, Brett exemplified hard work and commitment throughout his career. Those who worked alongside him will remember not just his steadfast professionalism, but also his caring disposition that made every workday a little brighter for his colleagues.

Brett cherished the simple joys of life, reveling in the thrills of riding his beloved Harley-Davidson motorcycles and it was at the age of 40 that he embraced a new challenge, diving into the world of BMX racing—a testament to his adventurous spirit and unyielding desire to live fully and boldly. Brett was a proud member of the Casper Troopers and The Freak Nasty Motorcycle Association.

Family was the cornerstone of Brett's existence. He leaves behind his cherished wife, Kelly Gilbert, with whom he shared a profound bond built on love and mutual respect. Their journey together was filled with countless memories, laughter, and an unwavering partnership that many admired.

Brett took immense pride in his role as a father to his son, Kyle Gilbert, and as a beloved stepfather to Catherine Rose Wallace. The joy of grandparenthood shone brightly in his heart as he doted on his grandchild, Brody Gilbert, illuminating their lives with love and wisdom, and his mother-in-law Theresa Price.

He is survived by his wife, Kelly; son, Kyle; stepdaughter, Catherine; grandson, Brody; brothers Bart, Burt, and Brad; and sisters Diana and Monette. They carry forward his spirit, reflecting the warmth and love he gave so freely.

Brett is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Oscar and Vivian Gilbert.

Celebration of Life will be held at 6pm, Friday, September 26, 2025 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Brian Black speaking.

The family will receive friends from 4pm until the hour of service at the funeral home.

As we remember him, we do so with gratitude for the time shared and the memories created. In our hearts, he will continue to ride on the open road, embraced by the love of family and friends, forever remembered as the loving and kind soul he was.
