Clara G. Ellis Rushing, age 86, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at her home.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and again on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Celebration of Life will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Bear, Rev. Jim Mitchell, and Roger Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Tatum-Coleman Cemetery.
Clara entered this life on June 23, 1939, in Montgomery County, TN to the late Henry Douglas Hodges and Eula Mae Mackens Hodges. She was a member of Baggett’s Chapel Church of God of Prophecy, where she enjoyed worship, fellowship and working in the daycare. Clara also enjoyed reading, quilting, gardening, and travelling to the mountains. Her professional life consisted of being a department manager at Wal-Mart, where she worked for many years before her retirement. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Louis Earl Ellis, and siblings, JD Hodges (Joyce) and Ruth Sykes (Andy). Survivors include her husband, Allen Rushing; son, Tommy Cline (Erin); daughters, Vicky Davis (Roger), Rita Moore (James), Tabatha Weinschreider (Mark), and Hope Ellis; daughters by marriage, Melissa Bohanon (Chris) and Vanessa Rushing; siblings, James Hodges (Gloria), Randal Hodges (Gisela), Gene Hodges (Richard), Larry Hodges (Paula), Betty Peters (Ray), and Gwen Hodges (Pat); grandchildren, Brandon Moore (Serena), Rachel Baskette (Brad), Kelly Moore (Beth), Stephanie Davis, Travis Moore (Ashlee), Samantha Brown (George), Bobby Brown, Christopher Weinschreider (Alexis), Amber Richardson (Steven), and Sabrina Martin (Dalton); grandchildren by marriage, Scott Bohanon, Allison Williams (Lucas), and Jaela Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Annisyn Moore, Kelsyn Moore, Paisyn Moore, Kadynce Norwood (Hannah), Ayvah Norwood, Brody Moore, Mason Moore, Kylee Baskette, Kaiden Baskette, Shiloh Thompson, Brantley Richardson, Ben Richardson, Paisley Richardson, Charlee Richardson, Rhett Richardson, Hunter Brown, Colton Martin, Lorelai Lierer, George Brown IV, Emery Weinschreider, and baby boy Weinschreider due August 2025.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Moore, Kelly Moore, Travis Moore, Brad Baskette, Tommy Cline, and Steven Richardson. Honorary pallbearers will be Brantley Richardson, and Kaiden Baskette.
