Danny Mercer Obituary

Danny Joe was a Graduate of Montgomery Central High School, class of 1980. He was a Brick Mason most of his life and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and boating. Recently he started making canes out of found wood and enjoyed the peace of turning the wood into something beautiful and useful. Per his wishes the family will not be having a service. Danny Joe Mercer passed peacefully on July 20, 2025, at his home. He was born on April 7, 1962, to James Mercer and Irene Reeves Mercer in Clarksville, TN. In addition to his parents, Danny is preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Mercer; brother-in-law, Phillip; and two nephews, Scotty Mercer and Jason Mercer. He is survived by his loving wife, Tina Black Mercer; his sister, Garie Ann Epps; two stepsons, Daniel Joe Otten II and Bobby Lee Otten; nephews: Levi Epps, Cody Epps, Brandon Mercer, and Dudley Thomas Black; nieces: Dana Wall, Rhonda Potter, and Victoria Ashcraft; four step grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Danny Joe was a Graduate of Montgomery Central High School, class of 1980. He was a Brick Mason most of his life and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and boating. Recently he started making canes out of found wood and enjoyed the peace of turning the wood into something beautiful and useful. Per his wishes the family will not be having a service. In lieu of flowers, condolences and donations can be mailed to Tina Mercer at 2175 Seven Mile Ferry Road, Clarksville, TN 37040. Please visit Danny's tribute wall and share a memory with the family.
