Freddie Boner Obituary

Freddie "Fred" Eugene Boner, age 89, passed away quietly at his home, in Clarksville, Tennessee, on August 21, 2025. Fred was born June 8, 1936, in Davidson County, Tennessee, to the late Elias Jasper Boner and Gladys Virginia McInturff Boner, both of Davidson County, Tennessee. Fred was a 1956 graduate of Hume Fogg High School. At a very young age, Fred began honing his skills as a future salesman by performing odd jobs at local shops, he ran a paper route on his scooter, and worked with his father painting and remodeling. Fred later worked for Sears and Roebuck on Lafayette St., that's where he found his little sister a husband (talk about a salesman)! Fred tried his hand with Home Beneficial Life Insurance and later worked with Kirby Vacuum which would lead to the start of his own business repairing, trade and sales of vacuums. Fred never liked to take "No" for an answer, and it was said that he could sell ice to an Eskimo. Fred loved traveling the U.S. with family, and good food (he knew all the best places to eat). He enjoyed motorcycle rides, card games, watching football, and good round of golf with friends. In addition to his parents, Fred is preceded in death by his grandparents, William Henry Boner and Mary Gracie Merritt Boner, James Arthur McInturff and Susie Lillie Coats McInturff; step mother, Gladys Evelyn Orr Gary Boner; sister, Mary Sue Boner Adkins; brother-in-law, Charles Lester Adkins; great niece, Angelle Charlize Adkins; and first wife, Lillian Kay Cavender Boner, all of Tennessee. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Patricia (Pat) Boner; daughter, Melissa Kay Boner Shiver grandson, Jonathan Shiver; nephew, Eric (Dianne) Adkins; step children, David (Eunice) McLean and Deborah (Buddy) Trouy; step grandchildren, Christopher (Krysta) Trouy and Nicholas (Cristina) Trouy; and step great grandchildren: Olive Trouy, Knox Trouy, and Oak Trouy. Following cremation, a private family celebration of life will be held. Thank you to the family members involved in Fred's care and the staff of Suncrest Hospice for the care they provided Fred in his final days. Thank you again. By request: memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Please visit Freddie's tribute wall and share a memory with the family.
