Ian Gouin Obituary

Ian Scott Gouin, born on March 11, 1993, in Detroit, MI, departed this world on January 10, 2025, in Clarksville, TN. His journey was one marked by vivid spontaneity and fierce bravery, a testament to his fearless spirit in the face of life’s challenges. Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2011, Ian proved time and again that the light within him could not be dimmed; he continued to embrace life with a vibrant smile and unwavering belief in himself, embodying the true essence of a warrior.

Ian's passions were as colorful as his personality. He reveled in the thrill of BMX and skateboarding, indulging in a myriad of creative pursuits, including drawing and listening to music. His exuberance for life resonated deeply, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Ian's adventurous soul and artistic expressions created a tapestry of memories cherished by family and friends.

He will forever be remembered by his loving family, which includes his mother, Sarah Crabtree, and stepfather, Eric Crabtree; his father, Anthony Gouin; his step-parents, Randy and Melissa Phillips; his brothers, Hunter Phillips and Cody Gouin; and his step-siblings, Erica and Willie Crabtree. Ian's warmth also extended to his cherished aunties—Betty Anderson, Barbara (Gwin) Jarriel, Lisa Gouin, Tommy (Martha) Sells, and Tammy (Michael) Bolton—as well as his step-grandparents, Keith and Sarah Phillips and his special friend, Bo Mitchell, enriched his life profoundly. Emilio and Nuris Cousin were Ian’s caregivers, over the years the bond formed turned them into true family.

Though Ian's grandparents, Ralph and Gladys Richards, and Charles Gouin and Debra Gouin, and cousin, Brannon Shaw have passed from this world, their spirits live on through the love they instilled in him. Each memory, every laugh shared, and every moment spent together weaves a brighter future in the hearts he touched.

Friends and family are invited to gather in celebration of Ian’s life at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, located at 1209 Madison St, Clarksville, TN. A visitation will be held on January 15, 2025, from 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, a time for all to come together to honor a soul that burst with light and life.

Ian Scott Gouin's legacy will forever inspire those who continue forward, reminding us all of the warrior within, the beauty of creativity, and the strength found in unwavering hope.
