A Celebration of Life Service for Johnny L. Bishop, 81, of Clarksville, TN will be Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 11:30 AM at Hilldale Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Robertson officiating. Inurnment will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with Military Honors. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 15, 2025 at Sykes Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Tuesday at the church from 10:30 until the hour of service.
Johnny was born on February 15, 1944 in Charleston, SC to William and Audrey Bishop. He worked for Ford Motor Company for 35 years. Johnny served in the United States Air Force. His true passion of life was sharing the Word of God. Johnny started his ministry in GA serving Ash Street Baptist Church and Southern Crescent Baptist Church for over 40 years. He then moved to TN to be closer to his daughter and her family where he found his church home at Hilldale Baptist Church. Johnny has been an active member of Hilldale Baptist Church where he has continued to teach the Word of God to his life group.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, James Bishop. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Sharon Bishop, daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Roop, grandchildren, Kierstan (Preston) Albertia, Madison (Jaden) Keytes, and Jack Roop, and great- grandson, Banks Albertia, and sister, Doris Read.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hilldale Baptist Church House of Hope, 112 Lois Road Clarksville, TN 37043.
