In Loving Memory of Robert Dewey Springer
With deep sorrow, the family of Robert Dewey Springer announces his passing on April 26, 2025. A Celebration of Life for Dewey Springer, age 76, of Clarksville, TN, will be held at Sykes Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at 12:00 PM. Pastor Randy Wood of North Carolina will officiate the service. Following the ceremony, Dewey will be laid to rest at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10:30 AM until the hour of service.
Dewey was born on May 31, 1948, in Trenton, Kentucky, to Arvel Springer and Francis Rust Springer, both of whom preceded him in death. One of five children, Dewey was drafted into the United States Army at the age of 19 and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.
After his military service, Dewey went on to retire from UCAR in Clarksville, TN, after 24 years of dedicated work. Those who knew him best remember him as a devoted follower of Christ and a faithful servant of the Lord. He cherished his time with family and friends and found joy in the simple pleasures of life-fishing, hunting, and camping at Piney Campground with his loving wife, Betty, and their devoted dog, Noah.
Dewey is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Harris Springer; his sons: Jeffery Todd Springer, Robert Keith (Lisa) Springer, and Noah Springer; grandchildren: Brooke (Ryan) Atkins and Wesley (Alexandria) Springer; and siblings Joe (Thelma) Springer and Mary (Jimmy) Cannon.
He is preceded in death by his sister Geneva Williams and brother Shirley Springer.
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.”
- Revelation 21:4
