Janice Truelove Henson

1936 - 2024

Janice Truelove Henson, 87, of Hayesville, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024.
Janice was born in Towns County, Ga. to the late John Robert Truelove and Gladys Miller Truelove Penland. She and her husband of 65 years have been residents of Clay County for the last 26 years. Janice was a world traveler, living overseas in England and Germany and residing in California, Michigan, Maryland, South Carolina and Georgia. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning and hosting many families and friends. One of her greatest joys in life was being Grammie to her two grandsons. Janice was a kind and loving person with a generous spirit. She had deep faith in the Lord.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Ann Sorrells, Jean Phillips and Mary Gladys Taylor.
She is survived by her husband Doyle Henson; one daughter Angela (Angie) Henson Sorensen and husband, Christopher, of Chattanooga, Tenn. and two grandsons, Wilson Sorensen, of Atlanta, Ga. and Elijah Sorensen, of Chattanooga. Janice is also survived by beloved nieces and nephews and her best friend, Marvita Galloway.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 14 at the Prentiss Baptist Church in Franklin, N.C. Rev. Christopher Sorensen will officiate.
