Rebecca Beal Obituary

Rebecca Ann Berrong "Becky" Beal, 75, of Hiawassee, Ga., passed away peacefully on June 6, 2024 at her residence following an extended illness.
Becky was the daughter of the late Clyde Berrong and Bernice Hogsed Berrong Burch. She was born and raised in the Bell Creek section of Towns County and was a 1966 graduate of Towns County High School. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Memphis, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She was devoted to her pets, was an avid gardener, supported numerous charitable organizations and was a member of Union Hill Methodist Church. Her love of exploring new places was fueled by a number of job-related moves she and her husband, Ron, made over the years, including stints in Oklahoma, Atlanta, Jacksonville, Fla. and Memphis, Tenn. After relocating back to Hiawassee in 2000, she traveled extensively throughout the United States and around the world, accompanied by her sisters-in-law and nieces.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, J.C. Berrong.
Becky is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ron Beal; sister, Jimmie Dailey; brother-in-law Tommy (Donna) Beal; sister-in-law Diane (Mike) Hedden and nieces Vicki Berrong, Marissa (Charles) Box, Ceci (Heath) Hunt, Wendy Hedden, Becky (Wesley) Grindstaff, Michelle (Bruce) Moore, Leh Anna (Donald) Beal-Cook; nephew Jeff Penland and a number of great-nieces and nephews, as well as her much loved and devoted companion Maltese pup, Buttons. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Becky's dedicated team of caregivers for their unwavering support. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
