Jerry was a wonderful brother. His home was my family home after my parents passed away. He was always there for me when I need help with anything. I will never forget how he rallied my brothers and nephews when my St Francis Convent needed a new boiler. I didn’t worry about a thing. He took care of everything. For the past two years I took him communion every Tuesday. I would walk into his room and his face lit up with a smile. We prayed and shared our faith. He was well prepared to meet his maker. I will always feel blessed to have shared those times with Jerry and Elaine. Jerry’s passing with Elaine, Mike, Colleen, Wendy, Emma, Ray, Timmy, me, Colleen’s friend Kate, and the wonderful people from Hospice all gathered around him was what everyone who prays for “a happy death” would want. I will always remember when Jerry left us and went home to God and all of the Somerville family who passed before him. What an amazing family reunion that was!

I was always a joy to see Jerry at Colleen and Sean’s. Always a smile on his face and a story to tell. He was one of the good ones. I’m so sorry Colleen and Mike and families.

Elaine and family , Barbara and I were sad to hear of Jerry.s passing. He was a great friend who was my fishing buddy for many years in Long Key and helped me catch my first Tarpon. We enjoyed having him in our poker playing group. Jerry taught me how to cook a steak as we cooked steaks for 30to 50 people at annual meetings for many years. Jerry was also part of the born in 1943 guys in long Key along with Me, Dale, Bruce ,and Ken. Condolences from Barbara and me and the rest of the Kourtesis family

Jerry was my 1st brother in law. I remember going for rides in his corvette when I was little. He always had a pack of Lucky Strikes non-filter rolled up in the cuff of his t-shirt. We spent quite a bit of time socializing with the Somerville family whenever we'd come into town from NY. I have wonderful memories of Jerry throughout the years and wish the Somerville family peace throughout this final journey. I love you all from the bottom of my heart and wish comfort in the coming days and beyond.
