Neil Conway was quite an advocate for justice in the criminal justice system. He worked with an ecumenical faith group which was responsible for many progressive changes in Cleveland´s local court and jail system.
My sincere condolences to the Conway family. We are all better because Neil passed our way .

I met Neil in the mid-90s and eventually became a frequent visitor to his farm, where I camped, did work for him between jobs, sat on the patio with him and talked theology, made outdoor art, and even rode horses and his beloved "quad"all-terrain vehicle over the hills and fields of his family's summer home that had become his permanent home in the Cuyahoga Valley. He loved the farm and he loved nature so much!! He also loved music very much, and once we drove to Chicago and stayed at one of my friend's homes there and attended a musical off-Broadway there. In recent years as Neil was beginning to slow down, (his mind never did slow down though!) I would pick him up and we would go to the saffron patch in the valley in Akron for Indian food and conversation, which he loved. He encouraged me as an artist, gave me many books over the years, turned me on to the ideas of Carl Jung, and offered me counsel on my relationships. He was passionate, generous, laughed heartily and often, and was kind. I will miss him and our friendship. He did his best to be understood and to understand others. RIP also to his beloved dogs over the years - Pongo, Rascal, and Bugger. "Will not the Judge of all the world do right?" - Job
