GEORGE WOOSTER Obituary

GEORGE WOOSTER 05/07/1942 - 10/25/2025 George W. Wooster, 83, of Sorrento, Maine, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025. Born on May 7, 1942, in Rockland, Maine, George was a proud Mainer, known for his tireless work ethic. George grew up in Rockland, where he learned early the values of determination. After completing school, he went on to serve, enlisting in the United States Army in 1971. Following four years of dedicated service, he was honorably discharged and returned home to pursue his passion for mechanics. He spent his life building a remarkable career. A natural-born craftsman, George owned and operated three garages across Waltham and Newton, Mass. His hands were rarely still. Later in life, George brought his talents to the town of Clinton, Mass, where he worked as a mechanic for Department of Public Works. He remained there until his retirement. When not working, George could most often be found on his motorcycle or out in nature hunting, four-wheeling, or bowling with friends. He had a love of boxing. He never shied away from a challenge. George's good humor, loyalty, and friendship were admired by those who knew him. He built lasting bonds over the years, particularly with his close friends Claude Petrillo of Saugus, Mass, and Ralph Graham of Otis, Maine, companions who shared countless rides, stories, and laughter. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Wooster, whose support and companionship meant the world to him. George is also survived by his children Jodie Brown Wooster, Laura Andrews, Julia Nedoroscik, and Phillip Sargent, as well as many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved children Stephen Brown Wooster Sr., Christina Sargent, Lucinda Wooster, and Belinda Wooster, and by his sisters Jennie Creamer, Ella Ann Rogers, and Mary Wooster. A small service in George's honor will be held on May 7, 2026, in his hometown of Rockland with a celebration of life to follow. Family kindly asks those who wish to attend to contact relatives for details regarding location and time. George W. Wooster will be remembered as a man who lived life with grit and a devotion to his loved ones. His memory will live on in all who had the privilege to know him.
