Hilda A. Sutton, 66
MOUNT OLIVE — Mrs. Hilda Rose Autry Sutton, 66, formerly of Clinton, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro St., Roseboro. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private burial will be held.
Hilda was a Registered Nurse with Sampson Regional Medical Center for over 30 years. Her selfless compassion and care of others touched more people's lives than can be counted. Hilda's legacy in life was helping others. Her other joy was her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Julius Tate and Lucy Belle Hall Autry; and her son, Rodney Cox.
She is survived by her husband, Mac Sutton of the home; daughter, Terri Cox Lavery and husband Robert M. of Panama City, Fla.; brother, Billy Ray Autry of Autryville; uncle and aunt, Doc and Louise Autry of Autryville; grandchildren, Kaleigh Renee Melton of San Antonio, Texas, Corey Lee Cox of Clinton, Samantha Jo Cox of Clinton; father-in-law, Elbert Sutton of Newton Grove; brother-in-law, Jimmy Sutton of Mount Olive; sisters-in-law, Brenda Thornton of Mount Olive, Sue Sutton of Newton Grove, and Kay Fields of Mount Olive; and her other extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
