Irene Nye Obituary
Irene "Peggy" Hope McKee Nye, passed away on Feb. 8, 2024 in Elizabethtown, NC.
She was married to her husband Rep. Edd Nye for 69 years. She is survived by Edd Nye their three children, Shannon Nye King (Lynn Grey), Eddie Nye (Sharon) and Allison Nye; and her grandchildren, Kathryn King Edge (Marc), Nathan Edward Nye, Anna King Anderson (Jason), Jacob Nye King (Aleigh), Cole Nye (Carlin); and five great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased in death by her parents, Marvin Grady McKee and Sula Blackburn McKee; brother, Frankie McKee; and daughter-in-law, Kitty Cole Nye.
Funeral services will be held privately with the family.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in Peggy's name can be made to the Elizabethtown Baptist Church, 1800 West Broad St., Elizabethtown, NC 28337 or Elizabethtown Christian Academy, 1800 West Broad St., Elizabethtown, NC 28337.
