CLINTON — James Earl Lewis, 74, of 349 Rock Lewis Lane, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, at Mary's Chapel Church with Rev. Dennis Newton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
James, born March 9, 1951, in Sampson County, was the son of the late Charlie Rock Lewis and Willie Elizabeth Marshburn Lewis. He was an equipment operator in the construction industry and a member of Mary's Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Joann Lewis.
Survivors include: wife of 44 years, Elizabeth Ann Metcalf Lewis; children, Joseph Lewis (Nicole) of Michigan, Beth Jacobs (James) of Clinton and Dennis Alford (Becky) of Florida; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one expected soon; and brother, Billy Mack Lewis (Vivian) of Clinton.
